At Creativ Minds, we have established a fully operational developmental house located in Adelaide, with our participant centred approach, we focus on the following:

– STA / Respite
– Building independent life skills within a home environment
– Developing resilience within a home environment
– Confidence building skills and development

At Creativ Minds we are known for our unique mentoring approach, ensuring all our participant are partnered with the right staff who will be able to provide them with the customised mentoring they need to be in-line with their NDIS goals and their respite needs.

Through our program, using our ‘Happy House’ in Adelaide’s Southern Suburbs we focus on the following key skills building areas:

1. Understanding how to read recipe books, budget to buy groceries and prepare meals in our functional kitchen
2. Maintain the upkeep of their own private bedroom
3. Learn how to manage laundry, using the right products, washing machines and dryers. Where applicable and safe, also learning how to use the iron and folding/packing away clothing.
4. Developing basic household management skills, such as; Changing lightbulbs, waste management, changing batteries, collecting mail etc
5. Basic computer skills using our in-house office space
6. Developing cleaning skills for the Bathroom, laundry and kitchen (Understanding cleaning products and their safe usage)
7. Outdoor garden maintenance
8. Personal health, hygiene, exercise and relaxation
9. Apart from the above, Happy House is a safe, welcoming space used by our staff and participants as place to relax, unwind and connect socially.

We have seen how confidence in our participants is easily developed and boosted through obtaining new skill sets through our mentoring programs.
